Rickey was born in Okolona, MS and moved to Shannon, MS when he was young.  He says he was blessed with his artistic talent at an early age.  He recalls in the 1970's a group came to his home area from New York for an art competition.  He won second place, and the contest organizers wanted to take him back to New York where he could further his art studies.  His mother wouldn't let him go.  

Fast forward and Rickey found himself in prison, as sometimes happens to people without a clear sense of direction and purpose and hope for a bright future.  This is where he began to paint and express what was on his mind.  He calls himself "a man with a mind of a million faces."

Rickey is out now, working toward becoming the artist and the man he was meant to be.
