Ray Fielder was born and raised in Prentiss County, MS.  He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Memphis Academy of Arts in 1968, with emphasis in painting and advertising design.  He also attended graduate school at the University of Southern Mississippi.  

Ray has a vast work history with NASA in Huntsville, AL.  While there he was art director, photographer and director of graphic engineering.  He also was the arts and crafts director for both the US Army and Air Force until retiring from the Department of Defense.

Ray and Helene, his wife of 27 years, have one son Mark.  They returned to north Mississippi, after Ray's retirement, where they have established their studio in Marietta, MS.
