Eileen Sharp
Eileen Sharp was born in Connecticut, raised in Cincinnati, and now resides in Tupelo, Mississippi with her husband Jim and their two children, James and Patrice.
Eileen graduated from Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography with an Associate Degree. She worked five years in the photography industry before purchasing, with her husband as the photographer, a portrait studio in Indiana. Upon closure of the studio, they moved to Tupelo in 2002.
While living in Indiana, Eileen started to grow gourds and create art using the gourds as her canvas. The past 14 years has brought together Eileen's artistic eye for shape and a love for acrylic paints, creating works of art with God's natural pottery.
Eileen is an award winning artisan, gaining first and second place ribbons along with Artistic Recognition in 2001 in the Indiana Gourd shows. Presently Eileen is a member of the American Gourd Society and the newly formed Mississippi Gourd Society. She looks forward to competing again.
Eileen says of Northeast Mississippi, "I am so happy to be living her. I just love the South and all the people. I may have been born a Yankee, but I am a Southerner at heart. I feel at home."
Bamboo
Approx 7"h x 7"w This pear shaped gourd was created using pyrography and acrylic paint and the natural coloring of the gourd.
Haven of Comfort
Approx. 12"h x 10"w This large martin birdhouse gourd was made into an unique bowl with a grapevine framing the opening. Pyrography and acrylic paint were used for the design. This is the natural color of the gourd.

Precepts
